Calvin's 1st Birthday!

Calvin's first birthday was on April 23rd -
Happy Birthday Calvin!!!
We had a party at our house to celebrate, and were joined by family.

Gee-Gee asked Calvin at breakfast, "do you know what today is?

It's your birthday!"

Everyone helped set up for the party, while Calvin and Daddy took a morning nap. Pop-Pop made sure his camera was ready to take pictures.

Calvin's Guests

Here comes the birthday boy, up from his nap.

Calvin says hello to his guests.

And is very glad to see everyone.

He had a surprise visitor as well.
Umi came wearing a handkerchief with a special birthday message just for Calvin!

Calvin absolutely loved his birthday balloons! He held onto this balloon for most of the party.

He showed it off to his guests.

He was having a great time,

And he hadn't even started opening his presents yet!

I'm #1!

Calvin got to play with Lily and Saul, and shared his toys with them.

He was a little shy at first, because he had 16 family members all together at one time.

But it didn't take him long to warm up!

Birthday Presents

Calvin got a great bubble mower from Aunt Keri, Uncle Paul, Will & Lucy. He loves bubbles! Aaron showed him how to have fun with the box it came in as well.

He got a shiny red wagon from Gee-Gee and Pop-Pop!

Soon Will and Lucy joined him in it.

And then everyone wanted a ride!

He got his very own cell phone too, which Saul liked a lot.

Grandma made him a super soft and snugly quilt.

She and Grandpa got him a new tiger,

and some books too.

Calvin wanted us to thank everyone for all of the great birthday gifts (he got many more then we had pictures for but they are all great!) -
Thank You!!!

Birthday Cake

Calvin is about to taste chocolate for the very first time,

And blow out his first birthday candle.

He did it with a little help from his cousins.

He kept it very neat, at first...

Hmmm, what is this deliciousness?!

Soon he got into it and smeared it everywhere, like we expected!
Mmmm!!

Happy birthday to Calvin, and many thanks to everyone who could make it to his party!
