Calvin's First Pumpkin Regatta!

Calvin went to a pumpkin regatta on the waterfront, and had a nice day in the sun. He was amazed at the larger-than-life pumpkins he saw there.

We enjoyed seeing how people decorated their pumpkins for the race, and Calvin gave them all a big round of applause.

Back at home...

Calvin just got more new teeth in,

and I'm pretty sure that one of them must be his sweet tooth!

Calvin loves to get snuggled, especially now that the days are getting colder.

We still love to spend time outside riding on wagons,

Climbing trees, and exploring.

One of Calvin's new interests is cooking.

He makes a mean lemon soup (just ask Aunt Bee), and loves to mix up playdough and cake batter.

We visited Aunt Bee at College, and had a great time!

Calvin Visits the Firestation & Goes Apple Picking!

In October, we went apple picking and Calvin had a lot of fun!

It was one of those perfect Autumn days.

We plotted our course.

We walked and walked through the extensive orchards to find just the right apples.

Calvin picked a few apples,

And sampled many different varieties!

Calvin also visited the fire station early in October.
He got to be a fire chief for the day!

He rode in a fire truck and bucket loader.

He even got to sit on a police motorcycle,

And go for rides around the station.

September 2011

September began with a kick, and Calvin had fun doing all kinds of new things.

We visited a local farm, where Calvin got to drive a tractor.

He pet and fed the animals there, and liked the goats in particular.

Calvin helped us with the garden,
and liked picking the cherry tomatoes best of all.

Look at the yummy carrots we grew!

At home, he also played with bubbles.

And went for bike rides.

Calvin is learning how to play the guitar with Daddy.
Calvin already shows a fine appreciation of music, and we frequently have to tell him no music at the dinner table!

Calvin has even started him own band with his BFF, Spencer.
They always have a lot of fun together!

We went to fairs, and this one was in our home town. Calvin got to fly a kite, play with more bubbles, listen to music, and take home this pinwheel.

He loved going in the bouncy house - almost as much as Mommy did!

Calvin enjoyed many good times at Grandma and Grandpa's house too! He loved playing in their sandbox and playing with his cousin Lily's old bike.

Calvin learned a valuable lesson from Daddy about helping others,
when Hurricane Irene hit Vermont and he was there to lend a helping hand.

Calvin wants to grow up to be just like him someday!

Calvin started daycare in September, and has learned a lot there and made many friends.

August 2011

In August, G-G and Pop-Pop visited. Calvin was so happy to see them again!

They brought Calvin a new bike, and Calvin assisted Pop-Pop and Daddy in putting it together.

Looked good enough to eat, he thought!

When they finished, Calvin hopped right on. In no time at all, he had learned how to ride it and ding the bell like a pro.

Calvin loves wheels, whether in sets of two or four!

He's ready to go for a ride...

We went to Lake Placid to celebrate G-G's birthday!
Happy Birthday G-G!

We had fun in the sun, with good weather and good company.

Calvin went for his first kayak ride too, and tested a few different kayaks.

Everyone was climbing on board!

After so much playing in the sunshine, Calvin was tired! He lounged by the lake, taking a break from the water with G-G.

We went back to relax in the suite for a bit,

Where Calvin had fun playing with Pop-Pop,

And learning with G-G.

Eating is always fun for Calvin!

Back in the water,

With a little pool just Calvin's size.

And a big one for everyone.

When we got back to VT, we didn't have much time to rest -
off we were to see the Mientka's!

Of coarse, Calvin had to take one more ride before they left!

We went to the annual Memorial Day party at the Aunt Katie and Uncle Chuck's house.

Calvin got see his east coast cousins all together.
It was a great reunion!

Calvin was sad to see G-G and Pop-Pop leave the next day, but he had had such a great visit!


After all that excitement, there was still more to come in August.

And exploring!

It was so nice to have them here again!
