Happy Halloween!

Calvin loved looking at the leaves falling off the trees around his house. He and Mommy had a good time talking about the seasons.

And then he learned about Halloween. Mommy and Daddy told Calvin to pick out a pumpkin, which they would carve for him on Halloween.

Calvin thought about it for a few minutes...

And decided that this was the pumpkin for us!

We named it Ichabod.

And played until it was time to get our costumes on.

Calvin got a great pumpkin costume from Grandma and Grandpa (thank you!), and he put it on with a smile.

Daddy put on his matching pumpkin hat, and Calvin was ready to go to the Halloween parade!

Take me to the parade, Daddy!

So Daddy cut the top off of the pumpkin, and began carving the face. Here he is putting on a few finishing touches.

Mommy roasted the pumpkin seeds, Mmmm.

Catching up with Calvin

We've been so busy the past month, and Calvin has done so much. He began eating solid foods, and has tried homemade applesauce, as well as peas and bananas. He is sitting up for long periods of time, and is trying to crawl (though he hasn't been able to lift his chest and butt off of the ground at the same time yet).

Calvin misses all of you so much!

He really loves to eat his rice cereal! He usually gets most of it in his mouth now...

This is Calvin with his favorite tasty treat - frozen bananas.

Mmmm!

He loves playing with his blocks, although he can't quite stack them himself yet.


We've all been enjoying the sunny fall days here in Vermont.


Calvin's hair is getting long, Daddy can even part it for him now!

One of his favorite things to do is to play with Daddy, and they laugh a lot together.

And so does Mommy.

He also likes hanging out with Mommy's old teddy bear, Mama Bear. Calvin is getting really good at controlling his hand's motions, and he goes for noses often.

Calvin gets a present!

Calvin got a gift in the mail recently. He was really excited to get mail (he likes going to the mailbox just like Charlie Brown)! Here is the video of him opening his gift. Calvin's parents know that his blog needs updating, and this is the first installment. There will be more to come shortly!

All about Calvin

Calvin is an amazing baby, with lots of energy and calmness about him all at once. It is so much fun seeing him grow. For all of you who are seeing him grow with us, here are some new pictures:

Sometimes Calvin can be serious...

But a lot of times he is light-hearted. He likes to spend time in his saucer, and reaches out to test the gadgets.

Calvin reaches for his toes, and does a good job sitting up. He gets lots of practice, but isn't ready to do it all by himself yet, so Daddy gives him a hand.

Calvin is very interested in the world around him.


He is amused by familiar faces, and loves to smile at them.

He likes to make everyone smile along with him. And who could resist?!

And then, he gets really excited and shakes his legs around.

A Visit From Leslie

Meghan's Aunt Leslie came to town to visit at the end of August, and got to meet Calvin for the first time. Calvin had a ball during Leslie's visit, and together they went to the Shelburne Museum, Ben & Jerry's factory, and ate yummy food. We all had a great visit from Leslie, and hope she comes again soon!

Calvin really liked our picnic lunch at the museum.

It was a great day for it too, with sunshine and lots of interesting sights!

Calvin wanted some yummy ice cream, but Mommy said he couldn't try any yet, so he stuck with his binki.

He was pretty happy with the arrangement, and soon he forgot about the ice cream because he was having such a good time.

Calvin loves the water

Bath time is one of Calvin's favorite times, especially since he got a new personalized towel from Amy, Kory, and Sam (thank you!).

Rib-bit!

Daddy likes it almost as much as Calvin does. Fortunately for Calvin, it has his name right on it, and it doesn't fit Daddy as well as him (though it looks just as cute).

Late in August, Calvin finally got to stick his feet in some water other than in his nightly bath. We took him to Sandbar Beach for the day last weekend to soak up some late summer sun, and had a great time!



Daddy and Calvin love to play together, wherever they are, and especially at the beach.

Calvin's rolling like a locomotive!

Calvin has been rolling over like a log for a couple weeks now. He went through a phase where he would roll over in his sleep and then cry about it (imagine, the nerve!). He has now gotten used to sleeping on his tummy, and we are enjoying more sleep again. Here is some warm up footage before he figured out how to do the real thing.
